The fact that Palestinian prisoner, Karim Younis, shattered the shackles of Israeli occupation prisons after four decades he spent in the harshest conditions not only feeds, with utmost sincerity, the file of the sufferings of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons but also sheds light on a large segment of the Palestinians who demographically consist of about 2 million who hold “Israeli identities”.
The vast majority may not know that Karim Younis is one of these, and he is indeed not the only one. One of the goals of Zionism was to uproot this segment of Palestinians from the rest of the Palestinian people and turn them into “woodcutters and water-carriers” stripped of their sense of belonging to their homeland and people and into fourth-class “citizens” who are subjugated and integrated as per the requirements of settler colonialism.
However, we remind the Zionist colonialists and their fellow Arab collaborators who have tried to shred the consciousness of the people of Palestine since the Nakba, after which they devised plans of fragmenting, ignoring, and obliterating the Palestinian identity, and thus claiming their rights – considering that half of them became refugees in the diaspora and the other half was occupied in “western Palestine in 1948 and eastern Palestine in 1967” – by adopting and promoting incomplete “international” resolutions (from the partition decision and so on…)… we remind them that the longest-serving prisoner in the world (freed on January 5, 2023) Karim Younis comes from Wadi ‘Ara in the so-called “Northern Triangle” to the east of western Palestine that was occupied during the 1948 Nakba – literally, catastrophe, and which has different wrong nomenclatures and comes with various “additions” to the number 48.
We also remind them that the journey of Karim Younis and dozens of Palestinian prisoners (from Al-Jalil, Al-Naqab, the “Northern Triangle”, or the cities of the Palestinian coast) should be a source of shame and an opportunity for repentance and forgiveness-seeking to all the fellow Arab collaborators (including some Palestinians, although they are few in number) who accepted to be turned into tools or (perhaps victims?) of the psychological warfare of the occupation that classified those whom it calls “Israeli Arabs” as a fifth column, traitors, etc… (as if clinging to one’s own people can ever mount to betrayal to the occupation?!) and enlisted them under blacklists after seizing their lands and imposing military rule on them in addition to “emergency laws”… This is on the one hand.
On the other hand, and within the framework of systematic campaigns and long-term schemes, derogatory terms were implanted in the “Arab world” (toward this particular segment of Palestinians), which were actually picked up and adopted by some ignorant people, describing these Palestinians – i.e. those who survived the Nakba (the Palestinians who succeeded in remaining in their homeland at the peak of the 1948 Nakba) as collaborators and traitors, while the real traitors were in the core of some Arab capitals… and still are!
As a matter of fact, in order not to be talking about some “Arab regimes” (from the past?) and some “elites” only… we must shed light on the inner Palestinian circle: If you want to know the truth and the essence and principles that any Palestinian “political leader” believes in and acts according to, all you have to do is ask him the following: Will you support and work seriously for Karim Younis and his ilk (and Palestinians in western Palestine in general) to join the official bodies of the Palestine Liberation Organization (the National Council and the Central Council in particular… knowing that this is something different from membership in other movements or factions because this can be merely formal and symbolic) since the Palestine Liberation Organization is the sole and legitimate representative of the Palestinian people in all places of their presence, wherever that may be (regardless of the nationality they hold)?
If it is possible for a German-Palestinian or a Jordanian-Palestinian to be a member of the bodies of the Palestine Liberation Organization, what can possibly stand in the way of a Palestinian from western Palestine (a holder of the so-called “blue identity”) from becoming a member as well?
Things cannot get any clearer by simply taking a quick look at the modus operandi of the Zionist movement and how it employs the Jewish presence everywhere.
