Coronavirus: Israeli Army destroys Palestinian Screening Center<\/h3>\n

Israel\u2019s occupation soldiers deliberately destroyed a Covid-19 screening \"\"station set up by the Palestinian Health Ministry at the entrance to the West Bank city of Jenin on Monday morning, Wafa news agency reported.<\/p>\n

The epidemic has so far been very largely contained in the occupied Palestinian territories, thanks to strict control and containment measures, which is fortunate, as the Palestinian health system has very little means to take care of a large number of patients.<\/p>\n

But there has been a recent acceleration of the epidemic, with 468 new cases including 3 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of active cases to 8,360 and 65 deaths across the West Bank.<\/p>\n

Some 40 patients are currently in intensive care, including 3 placed on respiratory support, adds the Wafa agency.<\/p>\n

The destruction of the testing center came in yet another army raid on Jenin refugee camp, where two Palestinians were arrested by soldiers. A third Palestinian was injured in the raid.<\/p>\n

The coronavirus epidemic has seen no slowdown in the apartheid regime’s repressive activities. According to a report by anti-occupation NGO B’Tselem, demolitions of Palestinian homes even accelerated last month, leaving 150 more homeless.<\/p>\n
