DESCRIPTION:In 2025 82 PAJU vigils distributed 69\,679 leaflets\, an average of 850 per vigil\nIn 2025 there were 82 PAJU vigils. We distributed 69\,679 leaflets in support of the Palestinians for an average of 850 leaflets distributed per vigil.\nSince October 7 2023 Paju has held 189 vigils and distributed 158\,905 leaflets\, an average of 841 leaflets per vigil. In the summer PAJU distributes at festivals and on streets which have been closed to cars\, in the fall we distribute in front of cegeps and universities and in the winter inside metro stations outside of the turnstils.\nPAJU was founded in November 2000 and in February 2001 we began to distribute leaflets at vigils. Since we have distributed hundreds of thousands of leaflets in order to encourage Quebecers to support solidarity with the Palestinians.\nOur vigils forced the Israeli consul to move from Peel St to Westmount where it was less visible. Later\, after years of vigils\, in 2014 we forced Naot to close its store on Saint-Denis which sold shoes made in Israeli settlements.

DESCRIPTION:The film “The Voice of Hind  Rajab” is in Montreal at the Cineplex Forum from Friday 23 January to Thursday 29 January \n‘The Voice of Hind Rajab\,’  has been nominated for Best International Feature Film at the 2026 Oscars. \n\n\nThe film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in September 2025 and became an instant sensation\, receiving a record-breaking 23-minute standing ovation. It later won the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize\, the festival’s second-highest honour.\n\n\n\nOn 29 January 2024\, Hind Rajab’s car was hit by Israeli tank fire. Six members of her family died instantly. Hind\, wounded and terrified\, remained alive for hours\, whispering into a phone with PRCS dispatchers: “I’m so scared… please come.”\nThe ambulance sent to save her never made it. It too was shelled and burned. The two medics inside were killed instantly. When rescue workers returned ten days later\, they found Hind’s small body lying next to her cousin Layan.
